That is the title of a blog post I just read this morning on Huffington Post. Came across this article by John Kinnear and let me just say, Thank You! It's a privilege to have been able to read this. It certainly plays on the heart strings and is a glimpse into what could be our (any parents) future.
Yes, I know, Viktor is only 1-1/2 years old but honestly....we don't know what his sexual preferences will be when he gets older. No parent does of their child. We only pray that our children are safe and healthy.
We do live in different times from our own parents where being gay is more acceptable. There are also those parents that still do not accept this lifestyle and would go as far as disowning their own flesh and blood. How can a parent justify disowning their child?
We have talked about this before, the "what ifs" and we both agree, we will stand behind our son no matter what he chooses or what hand he is dealt. He is still our son and we will always love him. We can only hope that if that day was to ever come that our son would know how much he is loved and how safe he is in our home just as John stated in his letter.
