Stay-Cation Success

This year since money has been tight we decided not to take a big family trip (boo!). So instead, I (Jess) took the week off as a stay-cation to spend some quality time with Bubba. I had a lot planned to stay cool and have fun while staying on a tight budget. It wasn't very hard to accomplish either and made some great memories with my little man.

So how did I make our stay-cation a success you might ask? By following these very simple 5 little steps (in no particular order and can be repeated as many times as you please).

Step #1 - Every stay-cation should start out with a nice walk.... and this face. You can't help but smile and laugh when he gives you this face.

Step #2 - Be daring and try something new. Bubba rode on his very first amusement park rides at Sea Breeze (thanks to my mom's work picnic). He even went down the kiddie water slides and LOVED IT!!!

Step #3 - Have lots of fun! A trip to Stony Brook with "Nana" for the afternoon was exactly what we needed. Walking through the water to the falls on a very hot day....couldn't have been more perfect. Unfortunately, Bubba was in a bit of a mood that day but we still had fun and stayed cool.

Step #4 - When it's too hot outside and all you want to do is hang back at home in the nice cool air conditioning put on a movie. There's no need to get all hot and bothered if you don't have to.

Step #5 - There's always time to snuggle.
